Scooter Division's longest ride ever... Over 200KM

Mosgiel-Middlemarch-Macraes-Dunback-Palmerston-Dunedin

MEET: 9am, Mosgiel Z petrol station, fuelled up and ready to depart.

A refreshment stop at the historic Stanley Hotel is planned, a look at the goldmine, re-group at Palmerston Shell, and a well deserved lunch at Waikouaiti, back down the coast home. Odds are we'll stop for a bum rest and refreshment at ARC. An exact itinerary will be posted in the event page comments.

Petrol will be available at 4 points on the route (note, most are card-only).

There are 2 gravel sections, one can be bypassed via Hyde, and other can be missed out (goldmine lookout side route).

50cc scoots/bikes are welcome, but note the schedule is based on a 60KPH average, and there is also a small but unavoidable section of SH1.

It is planned to have a support vehicle for breakdowns etc, but a space is not guaranteed, so please give your scoot/bike a once over to make sure there's no preventable show stoppers about to happen with it, and consider bringing tools/spares if you have them.

Note: an alternative weather date/time may be set if necessary; check this event page before heading off on the morning (though we'll try and make the call the Friday before for peeps traveling in from out of town).
