ROYAL ENFIELD NATIONAL TEST RIDE DAY

MCR and Royal Enfield New Zealand would like to invite you to the Royal Enfield National Test Ride Day for 2022 on Saturday the 12th of March.

You will be given the opportunity to experience the Royal Enfield range on an easy going ride.

Choose from our range of motorcycles including the all-new Classic 350, Meteor 350 cruiser, adventure-ready Himalayan, Continental GT 650 Café Racer, and the award-winning Interceptor 650.

IMPORTANT:
All test riders must bring their own riding equipment and certified gear. You must bring your valid motorcycle licence or permit, and show it to your dealer in order to ride. You must bring your own approved helmet to be worn during the test ride, as well as gloves, riding jacket, riding pants and fully enclosed shoes. Your BAC level must not exceed 0.00. Any riders under the influence (or thought to be under the influence) of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to ride. We may refuse you from riding if they feel your safety, or their safety may be in any danger at any time before or during the ride.

COVID-19:
Social distancing measures will be put in place. Please wear a mask, keep a distance of 1.5m from people around you, and use hand sanitiser often.

This is one of New Zealand’s best known and longest running Motorcycle Rallies where 1500 – 2000 motorcyclists gather annually at Oturehua to celebrate motorcycling in one of New Zealand’s coldest places to enjoy a large bonfire, live band, various events and displays which makes this Rally memorable.

Winter riding conditions apply this means to be aware of frost, ice, snow, as well as gravel being scattered over the road surface – motorcyclists need to be wary of road conditions – ride to the conditions – there are no bold old motorcyclists.

The 2018 rally will be the 38th Brass Monkey Rally with a small group of hardy motorcyclists having attended all the rallies thus far and had the badges to prove it.

While it is good for the organisation of the rally to have an idea of numbers via pre-paid entries, most of the rally attendees make the decision on the day – more so the locals. We will be using the pre-entry on-line entry method which we successfully trailed last year – this assists in speeding up entry onto the site.

It is cold and it is important that people dress for the cold – some people do not appreciate how cold it can get at the Rally and that road conditions and the weather can change. This area holds the record for both the coldest and hottest temperatures for New Zealand.

Free soup and apples are provided to ‘Ralliests’.

One of the main issues with people on a Sunday morning is a flat battery because of the cold – ensure your motorcycle is in good condition with a good battery.

Because of the cold, you must be prepared. This includes warm clothing, good gloves, hat, good footwear/ motorcycle boots, good sleeping bag, tent and cooking utensils are required if you are thinking of being self-sufficient.

Bring yourself and your bike and enjoy our rally with the other enthusiasts and catch up with like-minded motorcyclists - but leave your attitudes at home.

The Rally site is open on Friday but facilities are limited.

The rally is organised by the OMCC with the Oturehua Winter Sports Club people, who provide the food for the rally and assist with organising the event.

NO glass is Permitted on the site.

Motorcycles only on site.
NO Cars - NO Dogs
NO BIKE- NO BADGE
No Patches or attitudes – leave them at home

A 30-year badge is being offered again this year as well as the usual 10 and 20-year badges.

The 14th Beaumont Valley Rally. Held behind the Beaumont Pub in Otago. 6-7th April 2019 Profits donated to canteen Otago and Southland. A great wee rally.

Will take place on Sunday 14th April 2019

Meeting at the Careys Bay pub at 1.30pm. Leaving there just after 2pm and heading to the Dental School. Leaving there around 2.35 arriving at the Octagon at apx 2.40.

Eggs and food items collected on the run will be handed over to the Salvation Army.

To finish off the day, join us for a BBQ at the St Kilda Tavern.

Please bring an Easter Egg and a Non-perishable food item to donate.

We know how much this means to the Community and how much of an impact we have on the Lions Xmas Apeal, so we are holding a "drop in event" at the Forsyth Barr Stadium car park .
Please come along on the 12th of December between 1pm and 3pm and drop off your Toy or Non Perishable food item into the Lions trailer and grab a sausage from the BRONZ BBQ.
We will have a QR code for you to scan, be managing social distancing, and face masks will need to be warn.
